The use of this technology in e-passports continues to fail citizens’ wish to have the confidentiality of their personal information protected against data snooping and possible ID-theft.Unfortunately, the saga continues across Europe and Belgium is just one Member States where the technology fails to protect its users’ right for privacy.

Here researchers put the Belgian passport with RFID technology to the test and the verdict is, the technology fails basic standards regarding the protection of personal data stored about you in your RFID chip in your passport.
